TikTok has just made its creating experience even more versatile by adding the ability to upload custom thumbnail images for your clips.

Within the upload flow in the app, you can now either choose a specific frame from the video to be your thumbnail, or you can tap on the ‘Upload’ option.

This option will allow you to add your own custom visual as your thumbnail, which you can create in other apps such as CapCut.

This option could help you grab more attention in Search as well as on your profile with more standout visuals to lure people in.

Other platforms such as YouTube have already seen the benefits a custom thumbnail can bring to your video, with some creators even spending big bucks to have them created.
