Spotify Prompted Playlists in Beta

Originally only available in New Zealand, Spotify’s Prompted Playlists in Beta is now available for users across the US and Canada.

Prompted Playlist allows you to describe exactly what you want to listen to using your own words, then generates a playlist for you.

The generated playlist is also informed by your listening history as well as what’s happening in music right now.

An example of the kind of prompt you can put in is “warm acoustic songs for a slow morning, plus hidden gems from singer-songwriters trending globally.”

Each song featured in the generated playlist includes a quick one-liner that tells you exactly why it landed in the playlist.
