SoundCloud The Upload Playlist

SoundCloud has just launched ‘The Upload’, a new editorial playlist series carefully curated by their music discovery team. 

‘The Upload’ was designed to remedy the abundant ‘algorithmic fatigue’ generated by modern DSP playlist models, opting instead to champion human curation and taste making.

The weekly series platforms a selection of handpicked tracks, each formally introduced in short voice notes by SoundCloud’s team of music experts. 

The first ‘upload’ draws an eclectic mix of groundbreaking new artists, including UK Underground rapper, Moriah Mensah, nostalgic R&B singer, Nomi, and London indie hyper pop act, Reiko.

SoundCloud has long established itself as an innovative frontrunner for emerging music discovery, will this human-led commentary model determine a new future for playlists?
