Report on Spotify’s Playlist Clean Up
19.10.2026
The playlist-pitching platform PlaylistSupply has released a report showing that Spotify’s ongoing crackdown on streaming fraud is working.
The report explains that declining follower counts on some of Spotify’s flagship playlists are a major sign of fraud-scrubbing at work.
This happens because fake accounts need to appear human, so they follow obvious playlists like Today’s Top Hits, Top 50, RapCaviar, etc.
One major example is RapCaviar, which has dropped from a peak of 16.3 million followers in April 2025 to 15.5 million today.
The full report also explores playlists linked to fraudulent submission networks that have been deleted and highlights playlists that genuinely drive discovery for artists.
