Spotify’s Fight Against Bad Actors
26.10.2026
Over the past year, Spotify has removed more than 75 million spam tracks and enhanced its systems to stop fraudsters uploading fake, duplicate and low-quality music.
It improved its detection tools to flag suspicious activity, keep spam out of recommendations and crack down on AI voice cloning.
To help protect artists, Spotify has introduced Verified by Spotify badges, AI Persona labels and Artist Profile Protection.
It’s also introduced AI Credits to make AI use in music more transparent and give listeners a clearer picture of how tracks are produced.
Spotify’s 1,000-stream royalty threshold aims to limit royalty fraud and make it harder for bad actors to exploit the system.
