Chartmetric 2025 Year in Music Report

Chartmetric has published its Year in Music review for 2025, outlining the key trends it tracked throughout the year.

Among the standout statistics, the majority of musical artists in 2025 were solo acts, accounting for 65% compared to groups.

Of these solo artists, 77% identify as he/him, with 18% identifying as she/her and 5% using other pronouns.

Chartmetric now has 759 artists classified as “superstars” in its analytics, up from just 222 in 2024.

The report also highlights Indian music, K-pop, and Brazilian funk as regional genres that surged in popularity.
