Chartmetrics Year in Music Report

Chartmetric has unveiled the 2024 edition of its Year in Music report, diving into the sounds, stats, and standout trends of the last year.

Over 11.1 million artists and 126 million songs are tracked on Chartmetric, making it the ideal database for a comprehensive read on trends.

Consistent with the data shown in 2023, this year’s report showed that the majority of artists today are undiscovered or still developing.

A rather interesting trend that it found is that 13% of the top 500 artists by peak Chartmetric rank were Latin artists.

In terms of release schedules, it showed that songs are most commonly released on Fridays and the most active months were March, April, and May.
