Meta has commissioned a report from Luminate in a bid to understand the impact of Instagram on music and artist engagement.

By combining Luminate’s music consumption metrics with Meta’s internal user engagement metrics, the findings provide new data-backed insights.

The study claims that 58% of music superfans use Instagram to engage with artists and music content, making it one of the largest platforms for music engagement.

It also states that artists who are most active on Instagram see strong off-platform streaming growth that lasts.

The report is fairly transparent, highlighting that Instagram ranks above TikTok in music engagement rates, but below YouTube.
