Instagram New Reels Algorithm

Instagram has launched a brand new Reels algorithm, improving on how clips are ranked and recommended on the platform.

For viewers, this means recommendations are more relevant, personalised and timely, and creators will be able to grow more quickly.

When a Reel is posted, it is initially recommended to a small audience of non-followers that Instagram thinks will enjoy it based on signals and matching techniques.

The best performing Reels are then shown to a slightly wider audience, then the best of those are shown to an even wider group and so on.
