Meet The Label: Bubble
19.05.2026
To coincide with our brand new look, we are introducing you to some of our labels in this new Meet the Label Q&A series!
First up, find out how the extraordinary Melbourne-based UKG label Bubble got started, its core values, and where it is headed.
What sparked the creation of the label?
Bubble was created in 2019 as a monthly party at Section 8 here in Melbourne. We wanted to provide a space dedicated entirely to UK Garage, something that was largely missing at the time. We always intended on turning it into a label and in 2020 Covid hit and we found ourselves unable to run events so decided to move online sparking the creation of the label.
What are the label’s core values?
The music has to be unique and interesting, I think there is a lot of generic UK Garage out there and we try our best to sift through this and find something that is genuine and has longevity rather than just whatever sounds are popular at the time.
What are some of the biggest obstacles the label has faced and how did you overcome them?
Honestly, building an audience was the hardest part. Dropping music at the start and not seeing much happen was pretty deflating, but you just have to keep going, consistency is the answer.
What do you look for in prospective signings?
Its foremost the music, I think being smart about how you approach and submit demos is also a big thing. We like to get to know and build relationships with artists we sign.
Is there a release in your catalogue that you’d love to shout out?
BUB012 DJ Perception – The Good Times, Is a highlight. He’s one of our favorites and that track I always loved and we were lucky enough for him to release that through us.
What upcoming releases or projects should people keep an eye on?
We have our first vinyl dropping in august with 2 legends of UKG.
