SoundCloud Buzzing Playlists New Genres

In May this year, SoundCloud launched a family of genre-focused ‘Buzzing Playlists‘, and now,  metal, rock and indie have been added to the collection.

The Buzzing Playlists feature emerging artists and tracks that have performed well in SoundCloud’s First Fans initiative, exclusive to paying Next Pro subscribers.

Metal, rock, and indie are the newest genres to receive a Buzzing Playlist, with it initially only being electronic music, hip-hop/rap, pop, and R&B.

These playlists aid the platform’s curational ladder, with First Fans feeding Buzzing Playlists which, in turn, feed the Trending Playlists.

Data shows that almost 20 percent of all tracks added to Buzzing Playlists have then been added to Trending Playlists
